July 28 through July 31, 2005: Instead of off-roading for our extended camping trip this year, I wanted to balance more relaxation time with exploring as much of Crater Lake National Park as we could. There are a surprising amount of things to see and do within the park that most visitors miss out on. Most folks only drive the north-south section on the rim between the two highways leading into the park and then go on their way to points north or south. Their loss!
Viewing the lake from every possibly angle really helps to appreciate its beauty. Morning, noon, or night, the lake is definitely a sight to behold. Words nor pictures can come close to describing the amazing blue color of the lake.
